Aptus Technologies helping retailers find workers

Aptus Technologies has launched a job-matching mobile platform designed to help retailers more easily tap into Singapore’s flexible workforce.

Through JobsOnDemand, hiring managers can use an app to post real-time ad hoc jobs before disseminating the listing to jobseekers who have signed up as members. A service fee is paid by the hirer a day after work has been completed and members paid.

This saves hiring managers having to handle the entire hiring and payroll process.

Aptus Technologies MD Jason Ong says the app’s benefits have already drawn some retailers to migrate their pool of part-timers on to JobsOnDemand.

As well as empowering hiring companies, JobsOnDemand ensures part-time workers receive prompt payment.

To ensure quality, JobsOnDemand members are rated by the hirer after each job. Detailed feedback about a member’s performance of a job can be made available, and members can also rate hiring managers.

“Jobs listed in JobsOnDemand could be posted a few days in advance, or even right up to a few hours before the job starts,” says Ong. “Members who are available and near the job location may apply for the jobs, be selected, and be paid after the job is completed.”

He says retailers can reap substantial benefits from using the service. “Based on our scan of the market, hiring through JobsOnDemand is between 30 and 50 per cent cheaper than using more conventional recruitment agencies. Our platform also fills a gap in the employment market, as most job platforms today cater to longer-term employment rather than ad hoc job opportunities.”

Under an exclusive tie-up with CapitaLand Mall Asia, Aptus Technologies is offering retailers at the group’s 17 malls in Singapore special rates for sign-up and commission until the end of the year. JobsOnDemand has already been adopted by more than a dozen mall tenants including Jack’s Place, Ministry of Food, Swensen’s and The Soup Spoon.
