On its first anniversary, specialty coffee e-tailer Cafebond.com has opened its first offline retail location, The Bean Shop by Cafebond.com, in Millenia Walk shopping mall.

It is Singapore’s first retail store to offer coffee beans only. Its freshly roasted beans come from more than 20 cafes and roasters around the world including Kuala Lumpur’s Artisan Roastery, Cloud Catcher Roaster and VCR Coffee, Taipei’s Simple Kaffa Coffee and Tokyo’s Fuglen Coffee, as well as three stores in Melbourne and one in Canberra.

As well as featuring the e-commerce platform’s best-selling beans, the Millenia Walk store will offer a curated range of coffee-brewing equipment and accessories exclusive to Singapore, says CEO/co-founder Keyis Ng.

Cafebond.com customers will also be able to use the new “click and collect” service by buying coffee online then collecting their order at The Bean Shop by Cafebond.com.

The shop mirrors a modern living room and features a sound system and streamed playlist from JBL Audio. The furnishing, from HipVan, includes curated pieces with wood and metal elements for a homely touch, plus a classic sofa with a modern twist.

Cafebond.com has a range of offerings:

Cafebond Basic: A no-frills coffee subscription program.
Cafebond for Offices: A coffee-delivery program for office pantries
Cafebond for Cafes: A wholesale program for small independent cafes

As well as Singapore, Cafebond.com has offices in Malaysia and Taiwan, and is supported by venture capital fund Quest Ventures and a group of angel investors.
