Deals via friends for celebration

Singapore’s first global shopping platform is offering discounts of up to 80 per cent to mark its second anniversary since rebranding from 65daigou.

These are available via the Friends Deal on the EZbuy mobile app and website, inspired by PinDuoDuo, a digital platform out of China that recorded more than 200 million visitors and achieved a company valuation of US$2 billion in 21 months. The EZbuy deal uses a refined version of this social-commerce concept for users to secure greater deals via their friends. This is the first time outside of China that users can rally on an individual’s friends and followers base.

“Think of Friends Deal as buying in bulk and at rock-bottom prices, but with the help of friends,” says EZbuy co-founder Wendy Liu. “I liken it to the good old Singapore communal kampong spirit, but with a cutting-edge digital twist.”

EZbuy says it will continue to refine the concept over the next few months, allowing users from all over the globe to connect, share and earn.
