OnTheList Singapore launches online

Flash sale pioneer OnTheList launched its Singapore online store today with an inaugural offer of Kusmi Tea. The sale ends at midnight on Tuesday.

Founded in Hong Kong, OnTheList Singapore held its first physical sale in Ngee Ann City last month.

“Following our successful launch in Singapore, we are very excited to launch our online sale site, and will be looking at ramping up the regularity of flash sales both offline and online,” said co-founders Delphine Lefay and Diego Dultzin Lacoste.

“Concurrently, we are also working towards increasing our offerings on our online store to cater for future cross-border sales across Asia Pacific – making products from brands in Hong Kong and Singapore available to both markets and beyond.”

OnTheList Singapore specialises in selling surplus and out-of-season stock in a members-only environment. In Hong Kong, it has a physical space in Central and has expanded online in both markets.

“This method of clearing stock promotes sustainability and minimises environmental impact within the retail industry, as old inventory does not go to waste,” said Lacoste. “OnTheList’s business model also gives brands the opportunity to reach out to a wider consumer database, engaging them through the flash sale platformas a first touch point.”

In two years in Hong Kong, the small business has grown from a few pop-up sales to more than 150 flash sales and partnerships with more than 250 premium brands, including Armani, Clarins, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ferragamo, Kenzo, Roberto Cavalli, Ted Baker, Le Creuset and Havaianas. It has now cleared more than 1 million items.
